Repetto

In 1947, Rose Repetto created her first pair of ballet pointe shoes at the request of her son, ballet company director Roland Petit. It was not until 1956, however, when Brigitte Bardot commissioned what would become Repetto’s signature Cendrillon ballet flats, that the company became synonymous with French style. Repetto’s unique stitch-and-return technique was developed by Rose Repetto herself, and is still employed to this day. Now Repetto is known for more than just ballet flats — equally iconic are the brand’s Michael loafers and Zizi oxfords. Clean pumps, sleek Mary-Janes, wear-everywhere boots and sneakers have also joined Repetto’s ranks, and all of the label’s shoes are made in France.
