The marriage of Estelle Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef established a partnership that led to the founding of Van Cleef & Arpels in 1906. The company, headquartered on the famed Place Vendôme in Paris, quickly built a reputation for its superb jewelry and unique designs. Watches soon followed, with the ladies Cadenas introduced in 1935 and the Pierre Arpels men’s watch in 1949. Alhambra watches, inspired by the Alhambra jewelry collection, and highly jeweled timepieces are brand signatures.
