This piece comes from Claire James Steinberg's My Garden series in which she captures the brilliant color of flowers floated against similarly brilliant dyed water. The series exemplifies Steinberg's remarkable sense for color.
Claire James Steinberg is a Los Angeles based photographer who began her career as a freelance photojournalist. Working for publications such as People Magazine, Steinberg spent years photographing the famous while simultaneously working on her fine art photography. Much of Steinberg’s work documents her travels around the world. With her innate sense for color and ability to capture honest portraits, the world looks all the more striking though Steinberg lens.
Steinberg graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied with David Hockney and Robert Heineken in 1966. Her work has been exhibited around the world and is held in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, the Corcoran Gallery, the Paris Museum of Modern Art and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
